Product Overview

Pressure and Temperature Gaugestop arrow

A full range of "downhole" pressure and temperature gauges is available in both Memory (slick line or coiled tubing conveyed) and Surface Read-Out (electric line) mode. A selection of gauges in the product range, have "built-in" dual capability allowing the mode required for each application to be configured through software.

Nan Gall Energy Systems gauges have leading edge capability, both in terms of performance (for example, temperature rating, pressure rating, accuracy, resolution and drift) and features (sampling, memory size and diagnostics.)

Typical specification sheets are attached for both Quartz and Sapphire gauges all of which come complete with the Accessories and Software necessary to gather all the data to a Personal Computer. Pressure ranges catered for are up to 30,000 psi with temperature ranges up to 200 deg C.

Nan Gall Energy Systems is one of the few companies in the world that has a proven successful track record with 200 degC products in the field today.

Nan Gall Energy Systems also offers Permanent Installation gauges.

Production Logging Toolstop arrow

Nan Gall Energy Systems produces Cased Hole Production Logging Tools for both Memory and SRO operations, together with all the Surface Hardware and Software required to produce API logs ready for analysis.

Logging Tools include Pressure, Temperature, Casing Collar Locator, Gamma Ray, Fluid Identification, Flowmeters and Depth Logger modules. The Logging Tools interface with either a "downhole" memory module for slick line operations or a "downhole" Telemetry module for "electric line" applications.

The surface "Depth Logger" module has been fully certified as an "intrinsically safe" product (Ex) allowing it to be safely operated in wellhead areas designated as "hazardous."

The safe initiation of explosive or delayed-action devices deployed on slickline or coiled tubing can be achieved through the use of Nan Gall's range of Intelligent Triggering Devices.

Whether the job requires casing perforating, tubing punching, plug / packer setting or even downhole sampling, Nan Gall can provide the safe means of achieving the goal.

The Nan Gall Energy Systems Intelligent Trigger has been fully certified by an independent certifying authority as safe for use and has demonstrated the necessary immunity during the certification process to various scenarios including RF, stray currents and even lightning strikes!

The experience that Nan Gall Energy Systems has gained in the design and manufacture of high temperature and pressure "downhole" products has placed it in an excellent position to provide permanent products that meet the demanding requirements of the "downhole" environment. In particular, Nan Gall Energy Systems' research and development in the field of high temperature electronics design and manufacture has allowed it to develop products with outstanding reliability.

When this reliability performance is matched with Nan Gall Energy Systems' well established electric line telemetry features - such as the addressable surface read out system which allows up to 8 different gauges to be communicating with the surface on a single cable - and Nan Gall Energy Systems' established real time software, it provides a powerful combination to address the needs of any permanent "downhole" installation.

Shut-in Toolstop arrow

Quartz memory gauges, when used in conjunction with a "downhole" Shut-in Tool can produce many benefits when compared with "shut-ins" at surface.

A typical deployment of the "downhole" shut-in tool is below a lock mandrel and equalising sleeve with a shock absorber situated between the shut in tool and the memory gauges below.

Disadvantages of "surface shut-in" include wellbore storage effects masking genuine build-up information or leaking surface flow lines precluding proper surface "shut-in."

Special projects range from simple design enhancements to the full design and manufacturing process where Nan Gall Energy Systems simply receives a product specification on paper and then proceeds to design and manufacture the product for the customer.
